This assignment was very fun for me to figure out how to incorporate learning into a powerpoint that was nonlinear. I came up with a choose your own adventure story as my idea because I figured this would be engaging enough for second or third graders. I thought this assignment was thought provoking in a good way, and I am glad that it was assigned to me. One thing I didn't like about the assignment was the slide limit, as I felt I had to add more to the story than was necessary to meet that requirement, but it wasn't  necessarily difficult to do that.      Survey tools are not something I thought I would be using until this question was asked of me. As a 12th grade teacher for psychology, I feel as though I would be able to use surveys in order to improve my teaching skills, based on what students wanted me to do instead of doing what I had planned. I could use a survey to gauge what students wan...

I was an online section for this semester and it was asynchronous. I find this type of class to be my favorite, because I can decide when in the week I want to worry about the assignments and when to complete them. I did not necessarily dislike anything about the class structure itself, moreso some of the content seemed like things I would not need to know for my future classroom experience. I am hoping when I am a teacher, I won't have to worry about an online classroom, but if it came to it, I would try to offer bi-weekly optional zoom sessions for those who may need it. I would work with students to figure out the best times for them to come to the meetings.      Open education resources are essentially any research or teaching materials that are in the open public domain, meaning they can be accessed and used by anyone with a computer. I found an article about a University in Wyoming that is going to launch a journal of different open educat...

I have used Weebly in the past but I have never used the embed code function before so it was interesting to learn how to use. I liked the Weebly platform because I found it really easy to edit my website and make it aesthetically pleasing. I could use this website making service in the future to actually make my class website to connect with my students. I can also use this website in order to connect with the parents of my students and use it as an announcement page to keep everyone updated.  https://jakebucher.weebly.com/     My experience with Diigo helped me learn how to better annotate websites for important information. I also liked the collaborativeness of posting on a forum along with the class to find resources that helped everyone. I can use a web based forum like Diigo in my future classroom by having students work on group projects together. Using a forum like this could also work as a personal archive of website...

On the website that I scoured, I was able to find every single teachers' personal website that was designed by each of them individually. On the specific site for the William Floyd school district, was a teacher named Ms. Tepper. She teaches earth science and here site clearly reflects this by having an "Intro to Earth Science" youtube video on the home page of her site and has basic information labeled on there for parents' use. She also has an about her page where she details facts about her life so the parents and students can get to know her better.  The link to the website shown above is here .      I plan to use an abundance of technology when it comes to my future teaching career because the parents of the children I will be teaching, will be from a younger generation who is more apt in the realm of technology. One specific tool I will use is Google Drive, due to its nature of being easy to share and easy to give out editing perm...

The initial setup process of Diigo was easy enough. However, I find the interface to be very confusing. I have joined the group, but haven't figured out how to do much more than that. I know it is required to use, but if it were my choice, I would use any other website if I am being completely honest. I like that I can upload my portfolio assignments as soon as I complete them.      Blogging has been an interesting experience. When I first read about this assignment, I figured we would be blogging about our lives, sort of like a journal. I was worried for this because I was afraid I would have nothing interesting to write about. Luckily, I was wrong and the assignment is always clearly stated of what I need to write about. This makes completing this assignment much more interesting and a lot easier to complete.      Youtube is something I would use as a web 2.0 tool in my future classroom because of the versatility of it....

My first experience with Twitter was with my personal account and I found it as a good way to keep updated on global news in the world. For this teacher account for this course, I found it as an interesting way to keep in contact with other students in the class and with the teacher. Twitter will help me connect with other teachers in my career, as a way to professionally connect with others. Twitter can also help me with my future career in the way of helping me connect with my students in a fun and effective way, yet still maintaining a sense of professionalism.      Everyone in this world, more or less, rely on some form of technology. Because of this, schools rely on children to have this technology and unfortunately, not every one of those children have that kind of access. This is what is known as the digital divide, and it is widespread across the nation and the globe. The digital divide is usually caused by poverty or in general, lo...

I chose 8th grade because it was the highest grade level I could choose and the closest to the grade level I actually want to teach which is colle level. LAFS.8.L.3.4 is the standard that I chose for this assignment because I remember meeting this specific standard when I was in 8th grade. Specifically. the part about greek and latin prefixes rung true to what I was taught in 8th grade, and learning all 500 of those that I was taught has helped me amass my vocabulary. This standard discusses teaching students how to read through context and how to understand passages about things they may not understand, through the idea of context clues. I would be able to implement this right now because all of those latin and Greek prefixes are fresh in my mind still and using context clues to solve problems is my favorite thing to do, so teaching this to others would be fun for me.      I chose 12th grade toolkits and chose the resource of formative assessments in ...
